I Haven't Received My Credit — What Do I Do?
This article is for recipients who chose the card-linking redemption method (Activate to a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) and haven't seen a credit for a qualifying purchase.
First: Have you made a qualifying purchase?
The card-linking method works differently from a traditional gift card.
You will not receive a credit until you make a purchase at the selected merchant using your linked card. Once you do, GiftYa automatically credits the gift amount back to your linked card — you don't need to do anything at the register.
If you haven't made a purchase at that merchant yet with your linked card, no credit will appear. That's expected because the credit is triggered by your purchase.
Before submitting a credit request, check the following
- Your card is linked to the correct gift. Log in at giftya.com to confirm.
- Your linked card has not expired. An expired card cannot receive credits.
- At least 3 business days have passed since your qualifying purchase at the merchant.
If all three are true and you still haven't received the credit, proceed to the next step.
Submit a missing credit request
- Log in to your GiftYa account at giftya.com.
- Go to the "Where's my Credit" tab, or navigate directly to giftya.com/secure/account/missing-credit.
- Select the merchant where you did not receive the credit. If the merchant isn't listed, your card may not be properly linked to that gift — contact support before continuing (see below).
- Enter the date, amount, and transaction type for your purchase.
- Submit the form.
Once submitted, GiftYa will immediately issue the credit to your linked card. Depending on your bank, it may take an additional 1–3 business days for the funds to appear in your account.
